Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (AMCT)and Activator Methods Technique Protocol (AMTP) is a specific spinal analysis with a gentle, low velocity, high impact adjustment delivered via the Activator. This is not your traditional "cracking and popping" adjustment which most people associate with chiropractic. In fact, it is very, very different. To learn more about Activator and the extensive research conducted, click here.
This office not only uses an Activator to adjust, but also only adjusts using the Activator Protocol. Activator Protocol consists of a specific sequence of movements that stimulate and activate specific spinal nerves and associated muscles. When there is a misalignment, these movements "activate" the neurological disconnect, which AMCT chiropractors are trained to recognize and correct. I believe this technique is the most specific way available to address the spine and extremities. It is also gentle, in keeping with our mission to provide gentle chiropractic care for the whole family.
Note from Dr Jenny: Unfortunately, you will not find my name listed under the Activator Doctors page on the Activator website, as I have not recently taken a live seminar. However, I have received Advance Proficiency rating from Activator Methods International in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011.... and I have used it extensively in practice since 2005.
As a mother grows during her pregnancy, her balance and equilibrium must shift to accommodate her growing belly. Due to daily physical stresses, changing hormones, and perhaps already compensating for previous misalignments of the spine and pelvis—a woman's body may be unable to adapt to the numerous changes occuring. This may affect the optimal position of her baby, and places additional stresses on her body as she progresses through her pregnancy; sometimes this causes pain and/or discomfort, sometimes not.
Dr. Larry Webster developed the Webster Technique as a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment protocol to be used during pregnancy. Because of the relaxin hormone softening all of the joints in the body, it is crucial that adjustments are gentle and take into consideration the very special needs of pregnancy. The purpose of the Webster Technique is to relieve interference to the nervous system by balancing the pelvic region as well as the attached muscles and ligaments. In turn, these areas provide the support needed by the growing uterus while appropriately distributing the changes in weight-bearing to those joints best designed to bear the weight.
The Webster Technique is a gentle adjustment that reduces constraint within the uterus, thus increasing the space in the pelvis and allows ALL babies to get into the best possible position for birth. At the same time, it allows the body to prepare for birth when given time to stabilize and strengthen the pelvis.
In addition, current research supports our personal experience that chiropractic care is a gentle, natural way for pregnant women to optimally transition through pregnancy and birth with a minimal need for interventions. It does not mean your pregnancy and birth will go along with your plans ;-) but it does stack the odds better in your favor!
The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association offers classes of instruction and issues its qualified attendees a Certificate of Proficiency in the Webster Technique. Only those doctors on the ICPA website maintain recognized certification status with the ICPA. Dr Jenny is listed on the website.

Blair is a a highly specific protocol for analyzing and adjusting the upper neck. It requires very specific x-rays that use stereo imagery to visualize misalignments of the neck and to provide a customized adjustment using measurements taken from the x-rays themselves to determine the angle of adjustment, the torque required, and the variation that exists within those two areas. This is not your typical chiropractic adjustment. Not only is it incredibly gentle, it is profoundly powerful when delivered specifically to how your body is designed.
Dr Jenny is trained in the Blair technique and has a Blair-specific adjusting table. Unfortunately, the ability to take quality Blair x-rays is not currently available at our office. If you have current x-rays from a Blair Chiropractor, Dr Jenny is able to provide continuation of care. If you are wishing to obtain Blair-specific x-rays, we can direct you where you can go to have them taken, or click here. A simple explanation to Upper Cervical Specific Care: Click Here
Note from Dr Jenny: Because the Blair technique requires x-rays, it is not a technique I am comfortable recommending to my pregnant clients -unless there is sufficient risk in not providing a more specific adjustment. However, I must share that current research does indicate the level of xray radiation to the upper neck is minimal, and is acceptable for pregnancy. Regardless, I am confident that even if we cannot provide a Blair -specific adjustment, we can provide our clients a more comprehensive understanding of upper cervical misalignments (and therefore a better adjustment) through my training within this specific technique.
Jenny Dubisar has a Bachelors of Elective Studies from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud MN 1995 . (before ever thinking of becoming a chiropractor!) Dabbling in Human Resource Management, Ethical Studies, and Speech Communication... but no sciences. The goal was to enhance corporate America by providing that "friendly smile and helpful service." Ironically, Jenny was surrounded by chiropractors (all male) throughout her life, without ever really realizing that women could be chiropractors as well.
After meeting her first husband/wife chiropractor team in 1998, the dream of becoming a chiropractor was initiated. It took a few more years to figure out how to make it happen, and where.
Taking the fast-track program through Greenville Technical College, Greenville, South Carolina, Dr Jenny obtained the necessary sciences to start Chiropractic school in just 5 quarters (Organic Chemistry, College Chemistry, Physics I and II, Anatomy and Physiology) from 2000-2001. (kids, if you want to become a chiropractor, this is the hard way to do it.... just take your sciences in college!)
In June 2005, Dr Jenny graduated from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, Spartanburg, South Carolina, with honors. https://www.sherman.edu/ Sherman College has since taken out the "Straight" from its name, which is unfortunate. It denoted a special focus on "just" chiropractic- the innate ability of the body to self heal when there are no misalignments complicating the job. However, it remains an excellent school in a beautiful area of northern South Carolina.
Dr Jenny has been certified in pregnancy and pediatric care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association program since 2006, including certification in the Webster Technique, and appropriate care specific to the unique needs of pregnant women, infants, and children. She is continuing her studies to include additional advanced pediatric care. (specifically, plagiocephaly, post-revision, and cranial sacral technique)
Gentle adjustments in our office are primarily delivered using an Activator, which is a hand-held adjusting tool that is both gentle and highly specific in adjusting misalignments. From 2005-2009 Dr Jenny was Advance Proficiency Rated by Activator Methods. We continue to use Activator Protocol in our office exclusively when utilizing the Activator.
Since 2010, Dr Jenny has also been providing adjustments using the Koren-Specific Technique (KST) using the Arthro-Stim Adjusting Unit (aka The Woodpecker). This is an ideal technique for particularly challenging issues, such as when clients are unable to lie down for an adjustment, little kids find it "tickllish" and is gentle enough for infant when used through Dr Jenny's thumb.
All sessions are complimented with a tonal understanding that supports breath, adjustment integration, and a comprehensive expression of the mind-body connection, also known as Bio-Geometric Integration.
Chiropractic care can be priceless when it comes to staying healthy. It does not have to hurt to help, and not all chiropractic is the same. We take pride in the fact that our care is frequently shared with friends who have been previously afraid of chiropractic... because it helps.
